ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony announced on Tuesday that the meeting of the Central-Ruet-e-Hilal Committee would be held on March 22 in Peshawar for the Ramadan moon sighting.
In a press release, the ministry stated the committee would meet at Provincial Awqaf Department in Peshawar after the Asr prayer. Chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Syed Abdul Khabir Azad, will chair the meeting.
Taking to its official handle, the Religious Affairs Ministry released its press release with the subject “Arrangements for sighting the crescent of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak.”
“The central meeting for Ramadan moon sighting will be held on Wednesday, March 22, after Asr prayer in Peshawar under the chairmanship of Chairman Maulana Syed Abdul Khabir Azad.”
Ruet-e-Hilal zonal committees’ meetings
“Meetings of other ruet-e-hilal zonal committees will be held at their respective locations, including the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Kohsar Block,” the ministry tweeted.

Similarly, the meeting of the Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Islamabad, will be held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmon, 1st Floor Kohsar Block, Pakistan Secretariat, Islamabad.”
The press release further instructed that all information about the crescent position may be conveyed to Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Moulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, Syed Mushahid Hussain Khalid, and Hafiz Abdul Qudoos.
“The chairman of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will announce the decision of crescent sighting or otherwise subsequently based on information received to this end,” the statement said.
