MUZAFFARGARH: A retailer for the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) of center Damer Walla Shumali was robbed on Tuesday by two armed men of cash worth Rs16 million.
In the vicinity of the Sher Sultan police station, Muhammad Arif was traveling to a BISP center with cash when two thieves held him up at gunpoint and demanded the money. After the robbery, he called at 15; the police responded and initiated the investigation.
To safely distribute the funds among deserving people, other shopkeepers complained and urged that the authorities beef up the protection of BISP dealers. —APP
