Royal Decree Allows Saudi Cabinet to Convene Even if King or Crown Prince are Absent

RIYADH: The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has issued a royal decree that allows the Saudi cabinet to convene even if he or Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud do not chair it, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.

In the absence of the King, the Crown Prince or his deputies, the cabinet would be chaired by the eldest member of the cabinet who is a descendent of the Kingdom’s founding father King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Faisal Al-Saud.

The royal decree added the cabinet decisions issued during the meeting would be signed by the chairman.
