General Haftar has arrived in Rome for holding meetings with Italian officials on stabilizing Libya. On Wednesday evening, Haftar met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister in Rome. According to Arab News that the matter of migrants attempting to cross the Mediterranean in unparalleled numbers to reach Italy’s shores was discussed on Thursday meeting.

“Haftar’s trip to Italy comes as Rome continues to grapple with a growing number of refugees and migrants arriving by sea from Northern Africa. “Many of these migrants depart from Libya, where Haftar has control. Some sources said that General Haftar’s cooperation and support will be greatly lauded, and we believe that the meeting with PM Meloni will also bring very positive results.”
