ISTANBUL: The regional governor of Turkiye said on Monday that rockets were fired from Syria towards Karkamis, which is a Turkish border town. In these rocket attacks, two people were killed, and six people were injured.
The governor of the Gaziantep province, Davut Gul, said on Twitter that the five mortars or rockets were fired from Syria toward the center of Karkamis town.

Two of our citizens passed away. Two of our citizens who were seriously injured were among the six wounded.
Anadolu Agency reported that the rocket strike hit a high school, two houses, and a truck near the border crossing that connects Karkamis Town of Turkiye to the Syrian Jarablus border town.
The news agency released images of damages from the rocket strikes, including pictures depicting shattered windows at a school and a burning truck in flames.
Earlier Sunday, Turkiye carried out an airstrike against the PKK/YPG terror groups reportedly based in northern Syria and Iraq.
Terrorist bases in Iraq, Syria
Turkish Defense Ministry said that The Turkish Air strikes operation, named as Pence-Kilic (Claw-Sword), was conducted in northern Iraq and Syria, which terrorists use as bases for attacks against Turkiye.
According to the ministry, the operation followed the United Nations (UN) Charter’s Article 51 depicts the right to self-defense.
The operation comes in response to the deadly terror attack last Sunday on Istanbul’s busy Istiklal Avenue, which left at least six people dead and 81 injured.
According to the Turkish government, the PKK/YPG terror group was responsible for the attack.
