Riyadh Wants to Restore Talks with Tehran: Iranian Minister

TEHRAN: Tehran has said that Riyadh is ready to restore talks on the resumption of diplomatic relations with Iran.

This was stated by Iranian foreign minister Amir-Abdollahian on Wednesday. In a tweet, the foreign minister of Iran said that he was informed by Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister that Riyadh wants to resume talks with Tehran.

He added that the interaction between the two ministers was held on the sidelines of the 2nd Baghdad conference in Amman, Jordan on Tuesday.

Iranian foreign ministers termed the Baghdad conference as an opportunity to hold friendly talks with the foreign ministers of Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, and Iraq.

He posted that Saudi Arabia’s minister assured him that Saudi Arabia is ready to restore talks with Iran. However, the Iranian minister did not share more details about the matter.
