RIYADH: Natural resources and the Al-Durra gas field in the maritime “Divided Area” are exclusively and completely owned by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and Kuwait, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday, citing a source of foreign ministry.

Riyadh also renewed call for Tehran to start talks with Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to demarcate eastern border of the area, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) maintained.

Earlier, Kuwait also rejected Tehran’s “claims” over the Al-Durra gas field, saying that it owned exclusive rights to its resources along with KSA, KUNA stated.

Like Riyadh, Kuwait also asked Tehran to begin dialogue over the demarcation of its borders after Iran said it was ready to start drilling in the field.

“We categorically and completely reject Tehran’s planned activities around the premises of the Al-Durra gas field,” Kuwait’s Minister for Oil Saad Al-Barrak was quoted as saying by KUNA.
