SRINAGAR: In a message delivered from New Delhi’s Tihar jail, senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leader Shabbir Ahmad Shah has reiterated his unwavering commitment to the cause of freedom for his oppressed Kashmiri people, who continue to live under India’s disputed occupation. His words reflect a deep resolve to persist in his struggle, regardless of the challenges he faces.
Shah’s message, conveyed through Kashmir Media Service, underscores his unyielding spirit and conviction that no amount of incarceration can break his determination to fight for the rights and self-determination of the people of Kashmir. His connection to the collective heartbeats of Kashmiris resounds in his statement, emphasizing that their aspirations are his driving force.

He denounces the tactics employed by India, including the banning of pro-freedom parties like the Democratic Freedom Party, the sealing of houses and offices of Hurriyat leaders and organizations, and the reported torture of activists as futile and oppressive means to suppress the freedom movement.
Shah stands firm in his declaration that the Kashmir issue remains a dispute, and he is prepared to uphold this belief even in the face of adversity, including the gallows. He is resolute in the belief that until the Kashmir dispute is resolved, lasting peace in South Asia will remain an elusive dream. He underscores that the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, along with their leadership, have never surrendered to the brutalities imposed by India, as they consider freedom their inevitable destiny.
