ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi stated on Tuesday that organizing elections is the responsibility of the election commission, not the PML-N.
Talking to the media, Abbasi stated that whether or not the PML-N is prepared, the election commission is responsible for conducting polls.
He stated that he has constantly informed the prime minister that the NAB must be removed or the country will be uprooted. He also stated that if the system is not initiated from the start, the situation will not be corrected.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi says NAB shall close fake cases
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi stated that the NAB should close fake cases. People have been racing to the courts for three to thirteen years in these cases, and their lives have been paralyzed.
He claimed that there was no greater example of corruption than that which occurred during Imran Khan’s tenure. He went on to say that the fake cases should be put a stop to for good, as a result of which investors avoid investing in the country.
He also stated that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) should account for its 24 years of performance.
He went on to say that the NAB had not arrested a single politician for corruption. He also said that the advantage of 25% of the money allocated by prime minister could not reach the people.
