ISLAMABAD: Renowned Pakistani scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel has been hospitalized after suffering from a heart attack in Canada, his son said on Tuesday.
Maulana Tariq Jameel’s son, Yusuf Jameel, confirmed the news and tweeted, “his father is currently in Canada and has been shifted to the hospital due to a heart attack.”
He added that his father’s condition is much better now, and requested the nation to pray for Maulana Tariq Jameel’s speedy recovery.

Yusuf Jameel also posted a video message on the scholar’s official Youtube page. He said that his father suffered from heart problems and complained of pain in his chest. After that the scholar was immediately shifted to the hospital, he added. He maintained that all medical procedures have been completed successfully,”.
He said, “right now, his father is completely fine and stable, but still in the hospital. Yusuf Jameel also urged social media users to refrain from spreading rumors regarding the scholar’s health.
Earlier, Maulana Tariq Jamil had arrived in Canada to attend an event organized by Islamic Relief Canada. The organization said that Maulana Tariq Jamil was scheduled to attend the event on Dec 21 and Dec 26.

However, in a tweet, it announced that the event has been postponed to Dec 28 due to the scholar’s health.
