RAWALPINDI: During a campaign against underage drivers, Rawalpindi District Police filed 80 FIRs against individuals driving underage during the last 24 hours.
According to the details, the police, acting under the directives of the City Police Officer in Rawalpindi, rigorously enforce the law against underage drivers. The City Police Officer specifically instructed the City Traffic Police to take effective measures to curb violations of traffic rules and underage driving.
As part of an ongoing campaign, a total of 4,871 FIRs have been registered against underage drivers, with an additional 80 cases added to the count in the last 24 hours.
The police have undertaken a comprehensive crackdown against underage drivers without any bias, and vehicles and motorcycles driven by underage individuals are being impounded at respective police stations.
Alongside imposing fines for underage driving, the police are also conducting awareness campaigns in schools and colleges to educate young individuals about the legal age requirements for obtaining a driver’s license.
The spokesperson of Rawalpindi Police emphasized the importance of parental vigilance to prevent road accidents and urged parents to monitor their children’s activities closely. —APP
