ISLAMABAD:  Pakistan is going to observe the holy month of Ramadan and people are making preparation to perform their religious and social obligations. In this connection, a local non-profit organization announced on Friday to continue their shared vision of a hunger-free Pakistan for the fourth consecutive year.

Starting from this Ramadan, the partnership aims to distribute more than 8 million meals across nine cities benefitting over 150,000 people throughout the year.

Through GroRizq- Kissan Dost Program, they are also providing seeds to farmers to grow various crops. In the previous years, the partnership distributed over six million meals to those in need country-wide, helped over one thousand small farmer families and rehabilitated more than 500 acres of land that were grappling with the effects of devastating 2022 floods.

Speaking about the partnership, Senior Director Public Affairs, Communications & Sustainability Coca-Cola Pakistan and Afghanistan Region Aisha Sarwari said that no single person or institution can solve for the issue of large scale of hunger we have in the country, as we rank at sixth on global food insecurity. However, we can compound our efforts and impact by making strategic partnerships.

Co-founder Rizq Huzaifa Ahmad said that they ensure that the meals served are hygienically prepared, nutritious, and tasty. The GroRizq-Kissan Dost Program has been consistently assisting the farming communities through provision of agricultural inputs as well as capacity building and knowledge sharing, he added.
