First Fast on Thursday as Ramadan Moon sighted in Pakistan

PESHAWAR:  The central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee has announced that the Ramadan moon has been sighted across the country, local media reported on Wednesday. The meeting of the committee was chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad at the Auqaf Hall, Peshawar.  The announcement was made by chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad at a press conference in Peshawar.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) the duration of Ramadan moon sighting in Karachi is up to 7:15pm in Quetta and 7:28pm in Karachi. According to reports, the holy month of Ramadan moon was not sighted in Bangladesh and India. It may be recalled that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will start the fasting month of Ramadan on March 23 along with most other Arab countries.
