Rain with Wind, Thundershower Expected in Most Parts of Country

ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Office has issued a weather forecast for the next twelve hours, indicating the likelihood of rain accompanied by wind and thundershowers in multiple regions across Pakistan.

Additionally, the Indian Illegally-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) is also expected to experience partly cloudy weather with chances of rain, wind, and thundershowers.

The regions that are expected to witness rain and thunderstorm activity include Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, Pothohar region, northeast Punjab, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Residents in these areas are advised to be prepared for potential heavy rainfall at some places during the forecast period.

Specifically, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pothohar region, northeast Punjab, and Kashmir might experience heavy rainfall. This forecast necessitates extra caution from residents in these regions to ensure their safety during any heavy rainfall.

In contrast, other parts of the country can expect hot and humid weather conditions. Temperatures are recorded to be as follows in some major cities:

  • Islamabad: 27 degrees Celsius
  • Lahore: 31 degrees Celsius
  • Karachi: 29 degrees Celsius
  • Peshawar: 29 degrees Celsius
  • Quetta: 22 degrees Celsius
  • Gilgit: 20 degrees Celsius
  • Murree: 18 degrees Celsius
  • Muzaffarabad: 25 degrees Celsius

Turning our attention to the weather conditions in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the forecast indicates partly cloudy weather in Jammu, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramulla, with chances of rain, wind, and thundershowers. Meanwhile, Leh can expect cloudy weather with similar chances of rain, wind, and thundershowers.

Temperature recordings in IIOJK this morning are as follows:

  • Srinagar, Pulwama, and Baramula: 20 degrees Celsius
  • Jammu: 25 degrees Celsius
  • Leh: 12 degrees Celsius
  • Shopian: 19 degrees Celsius
  • Anantnag: 21 degrees Celsius
