ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (Met) has predicted thunderstorms and rain winds in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Punjab, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan.
However, dry weather is expected in other parts of the country. The Met Office recorded the highest maximum temperature of 37 Celsius in Turbat, 35 °C in Chhor, Lasbella and Shaheed Benazirabad.
As per the synoptic situation, a westerly wave is affecting the upper parts of the country. Another westerly wave will likely approach the upper and western regions from the night of 2nd April.
Weather and Air Quality
As per the air quality index (AQI), the air quality in Lahore is 158 US AQI, 53 in Mangla, 61 in Rawalpindi, 172 in Bahawalpur, 178 in Faisalabad, and 71 in Muridke. In Sindh, the air quality in Karachi is 79 US AQI and 92 in Mirpur Khas. In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, air quality is 95 in Peshawar and 57 in Abbottabad.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, a maximum of 18 degrees Celsius (°C) temperature was recorded in Islamabad, 20°C in Lahore, 27°C in Karachi, 19°C in Peshawar, 10°C in Quetta, and 12°C in Gilgit.
