ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted rain, wind, and thundershowers in various regions of the country during the next 24 hours. The northeastern and southern areas of Punjab, the Pothohar region, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan are likely to experience rain and thundershowers, with heavy rainfalls expected in some areas of northeast Punjab and northeast Balochistan.
The PMD has attributed these weather conditions to the monsoon currents from the Bay of Bengal, which are penetrating central and southern parts of Pakistan. Additionally, a westerly wave is present over upper parts of the country.
The department has issued a warning of possible flash flooding in local nullahs (small streams) of Dera Ghazi Khan, northeast and south Balochistan, and surrounding areas on July 25 and 26 due to heavy rains.
