Rain Likely in Various Parts of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Rain is expected in northeast Punjab, Kashmir, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Pothohar region during the next 24 hours, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

Rain forecast

Moderate to heavy rain and snowfall is expected in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, and Galliyat. Dense foggy conditions are likely over plain Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Upper Sindh. According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave is affecting the upper parts of the country and is likely to persist till Friday.

Air quality

The air quality in Lahore is 202 US AQI; in Bahawalpur, it is 188, 153 in Muridke, and 102 in Rawalpindi. In Sindh, the air quality in Karachi is 233 US AQI, 225 in Mirpur Khas, while Islamabad’s air quality stands at 126. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the air quality in Peshawar is 112, while 153 in Abbottabad.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (MET), a maximum of 8 degrees Celsius (°C) temperature was recorded in Islamabad, 11°C in Lahore, 14°C in Karachi, 6°C in Peshawar, -7°C in Quetta, and 5°C in Gilgit.
