Rain Expected in Twin Cities

ISLAMABAD: Rainfall is expected in Islamabad and Rawalpindi today, while snow is expected in Murree, as per the Pakistan Meteorological department.

The country’s upper regions are currently experiencing a westerly wave, which is anticipated to last for the next few days.

Rain prediction 

Rain Has been predicted for upper Punjab, Islamabad, Potohar region, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, according to Met Office officials. Some areas of Kashmir are predicted to get moderate to heavy rain or snowfall. He said cold and dry weather is forecast in other areas of the country, adding that snowfall happened in scattered locations in Kashmir, Murree, and Chillas on Monday. In contrast, cold weather continued across the country.

Kalam recorded about six inches of snow, Parachinar six inches, Malamjabba two inches, Dir one inch, and Murree 0.5 inches.

Dry weather leads to pollution

The air quality in Lahore is 167 US AQI; in Bahawalpur, it is 160, 151 in Muridke, 168 in Faisalabad, and 101 in Rawalpindi. In Sindh, the air quality in Karachi is 176 US AQI, while Islamabad’s air quality stands at 158. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the air quality in Peshawar is 159.

Recorded temperatures

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (MET), a maximum of 8 degrees Celsius (°C) temperature was recorded in Islamabad, 9°C in Lahore, 11°C in Karachi, 4°C in Peshawar, and -1°C in Gilgit.

Minimum recorded temperatures

Today’s Recorded Lowest Minimum Temperature’s (°C): Leh -13, Kalat -08, Gupis, Malamjabba -07, Kalam, Quetta -06, Hunza -05, Skardu, Astore, Zhob, Dalbandin and Bagrote -04.
