ISLAMABAD: Qatar’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater, called on Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar in Islamabad on Thursday. During the meeting, the Prime Minister stated that both countries enjoyed strong and fraternal ties. He expressed Pakistan’s keen interest in expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade and investment.
Highlighting Pakistan’s focus on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, the Prime Minister emphasized the active role of the Special Economic Zone Authority (SEZA) in attracting investors from Gulf countries, including Qatar, to explore opportunities in various sectors. The Ambassador was encouraged to explore potential collaborations in the tourism and media sectors.
Discussing international affairs, Prime Minister Kakar appreciated Qatar’s diplomatic efforts that contributed to a temporary ceasefire in Gaza. He stressed the collective responsibility of the global community, especially the Muslim Ummah, in working towards lasting peace in Palestine.
As this was his first meeting with the Prime Minister since presenting his credentials in November, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar congratulated him on assuming ambassadorial responsibilities in Pakistan. The Prime Minister expressed hope that the diplomatic ties between the two countries would further strengthen during the ambassador’s tenure.
