DOHA: A team of Qatari doctors have performed complicated surgeries in northern Syrian, Arab media reported on Wednesday.
The humanitarian mission was in Syria to address the sufferings of displaced patients.
Qatar Red Crescent assisted the medical team in collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation.
Dr. Abdulla Al Naimi, HMC’s consultant urologist, lead the medical team which comprised of experienced doctors of urology and pediatric surgery.

The team performed medical checkups and conducted 29 surgeries, some of them were complicated. They performed laparoscopic surgeries of congenital malformations in children and fixed urethral strictures.
The doctors also extracted urinary stones by endoscopic percutaneous nephrolithotomy, which is a complicated surgery not available in Syria due to lack of medical facilities.
The visiting physicians also conducted workshops for 12 urology specialists and four pediatric surgeons from medical centers in northern Syria to enhance their expertise.
