DOHA: Qatar has announced reaching an agreement, between Israel and Hamas, with the cooperation of France for delivering medicine along with other humanitarian aid to the civilians in Gaza Strip.

Dr. Majed bin Mohammed AL-Ansari, Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement on Tuesday said that the aid would be sent to the most affected and vulnerable areas, in exchange for delivering medicines needed for captives in Gaza.

The official said that the medicines and aid will be sent tomorrow to the city of Al- Arish in Egypt, aboard two Qatari Armed Forces aircrafts, in preparation for transporting them into the Gaza Strip.

Al-Ansari stressed the continuation of efforts with regional and global partners during the next phase, especially in the humanitarian aspects and medical evacuation within the framework of Qatari efforts to end the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

The ongoing relentless Israeli bombardments and ground operations since October 7 have killed over 24,285 Palestinians, with approximately 70 percent being women, young children, and adolescents, according to the Gaza Strip health ministry.

According to the United Nations some 1.87 million Palestinians, over 80 percent of Gaza’s population, have left their homes because of the Israeli bombardment of the besieged enclave.

In November Qatar helped broker weeklong cease-fire of the Gaza war during which 106 Israeli captives and 240 Palestinian prisoners were freed.
