Putin Vows to Further Expand Russian-Turkish Cooperation

MOSCOW: Russian President Putin said on Friday that acting together, Russia and Turkiye will be able to ensure further enhancement of the entire complex of Russian-Turkish cooperation, which will strengthen stability and security on the Eurasian continent.

Putin extended the holiday and 2023 New Year’s greetings to heads of foreign states and governments, including Turkiye, and leaders of global organizations.

Russian-Turkish joint ventures

The Russian President “warmly congratulated Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the next New Year, emphasizing that mutually beneficial relations between Turkiye and Russia are developing very dynamically, despite the challenging international situation,” the President said in a statement.

President Putin stated that bilateral cooperation between Moscow and Ankara had significantly expanded in the past year. He said major joint projects designed to ensure long-term regional energy security is being successfully implemented. 

President Putin also sent holiday greetings to world leaders, including Georgia’s Abkhazia region as well as Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Syria, Uzbekistan, South Ossetia, Bolivia, Brazil, Hungary, Venezuela, Vietnam, India, China, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Serbia.
