ISLAMABAD: The Kremlin disclosed on Monday that during a phone call with Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin condemned Kyiv’s “destructive” policies. Putin’s criticism comes as Western arms supplies to his country’s foe gathered pace.
The Kremlin quoted Putin as saying Kyiv was pursuing “a destructive line” and it had “bet” increasing hostilities with Western sponsors’ support, who were speeding up supplies of military equipment and weapons.

The Russian president also accused the Ukrainian leadership of refusing to accept his offer to halt fighting on Christmas Day. Russia and Ukraine observe Christmas on January 7.
At the time, Ukraine had dismissed Putin’s call as a ploy to gain time in order to regroup security forces.
Erdogan offers to negotiate between Russia and its foe Ukraine
The Turkish presidency quoted President Erdogan as reiterating that Turkey was ready as a go-between to work out the establishment of a durable peace between Russia and Ukraine.
According to the Kremlin, the two presidents also talked about the issue of the exchange of prisoners of war between Russia and Ukraine.
