ISLAMABAD: According to British media reports, Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a warship armed with new hypersonic cruise missiles. The frigate is said to be on a training mission past Britain and cruise to the India and Atlantic Indian Oceans and the Mediterranean Sea.
Commander of the frigate named “Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov” Igor Krokhmal and the Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, in a video conference, quoted Putin as saying the warship of armed with Zircon hypersonic missiles.

Putin reportedly said, “such powerful weapons” will ensure that Russia is protected from potential “external threats” as well as the country’s “national interests”.
According to the Russian president, there is “no equivalent” of the Zircon missile system.
This development follows the Ukraine attack in which Russia suffered heavy losses in the Zaporizhzhia.
