Putin Says Partnership with Türkiye is at its Peak

MOSCOW: President Vladimir Putin has said that partnership between Russia and Türkiye is at its peak, built on years of experience, Turkish media reported on Monday.

He said both countries are determined to further enhance ties based on the principles of good neighborliness, partnership and mutual benefit.

He welcomed and accepted credentials from the ambassadors of 21 countries at the Kremlin including Türkiye’s Ambassador Tanju Bilgic and congratulated the diplomats on their new roles.

Putin said he maintains constant contact with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on important issues related to bilateral ties.

Russia, Türkiye enjoy genuine strategic cooperation

He said in the energy sector, Russia and Türkiye enjoy genuine strategic cooperation. He noted the Russian State Nuclear Energy Corporation, is progressing with the construction of Türkiye’s first nuclear power plant, Akkuyu.

Putin said both countries have close collaboration in the natural gas sector, including the operation of the Blue Stream and TurkStream pipelines.

He said efforts are underway to setup a natural gas distribution center in Türkiye, and we have different projects and partnerships in the areas of trade and high technology.

Russian president said that during the upcoming Volunteer Day celebration in Russia a competition involving volunteer teams from 95 countries would be held.
