MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed deep concerns about the deteriorating situation in the besieged Gaza Strip, particularly highlighting the Israeli brutalities.
During a phone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Putin condemned the actions of Israel in the occupied Palestinian territory, calling them unacceptable.
In the conversation, the leaders emphasized their shared concern over the increasing civilian casualties and the catastrophic humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza. They specifically denounced Israel’s strikes on residential neighborhoods and religious sites, labeling them as unacceptable and acts of terrorism.
The Kremlin stated that the positions of both Russia and Turkey are practically aligned and focused on a two-state solution and the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination to address the ongoing crisis. President Putin has actively called for the unhindered access of humanitarian aid to enter Gaza, highlighting the urgent need for assistance in the region.
On October 8, Israel launched relentless bombardments that have martyred more than 5,700 innocent Palestinian civilians so far across the Gaza Strip.
Erdogan Condemns Israeli Brutalities in Gaza
During the conversation, Turkish President Erdogan told Putin that the brutality directed toward Palestinian territories is deepening, and civilian casualties are increasing every minute. Erdogan said that the “silence of the Western nations also escalated the humanitarian crisis in Gaza Strip to an unavertable level,” the directorate said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
