MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on Tuesday that Russian society has consolidated in support of the ongoing offensive in Ukraine.
Speaking at a meeting of the defense ministry, Putin lauded the collective efforts of the nation and expressed gratitude to those contributing to the military effort.
“Maybe this is the most important: the general consolidation of all the forces of society,” Putin stated, acknowledging the widespread support for the offensive. He specifically thanked persons and entities providing various forms of assistance, including financial contributions, vehicles, drones, and body armor, praising the “patriotic spirit of solidarity.”
Putin Accuses West of Using Ukraine for Proxy War
Putin, once again, accused Western nations of using Ukraine as a proxy to wage a war against Russia and questioned the legitimacy of the Ukrainian nation. He asserted that Russian military equipment demonstrated its “superiority” over Western weapons, citing the failure of the Ukrainian counteroffensive launched in the summer. He claimed that Ukrainian counteroffensive was backed by armaments provided by the West.
Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu provided details on Russia’s increased production and economic shifts to meet the needs of the armed forces. Shoigu presented extensive figures on losses in the Ukrainian armed forces, equipment destruction, and territory gained by Russian troops.
