Punjab Reserves 10% Job Quota for Children of Government Teachers

LAHORE: The Punjab School Education Department (SED) has created a job quota for the children of teachers, reserving a number of seats each time it advertises jobs.

According to details, the School Education Department Punjab has reserved a 10% job quota for children of teachers. A summary regarding the quota seats has been sent to the Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab for its final approval by the Secretary of the School Education Department (SED) of Punjab. After approval of the summary, School Education Punjab Service Rules will be amended for the facilitation of children of teachers.

To put it into the frame of mind, 100 jobs out of 1,000 jobs in the School Education Department will be reserved for the children of teachers.

In another development, the Punjab government is ready to hire 27,000 new employees in the School Education department in the coming months. Under the amended service rules, there will be 2,700 posts reserved for the children of School Education Department teachers.

At first, the Punjab government decided to hire 16,000 teachers in Punjab government schools but later it announced hiring 11,000 non-teaching staff members in public schools.
