LAHORE: The spread of the dreaded dengue fever in Punjab and the federal capital continues at a rapid pace, as 70 more cases have been reported in the province and 30 in the twin cities alone in the last 24 hours.
This year’s tally for dengue fever cases in Punjab has now soared to 1,415.
According to data provided by the Punjab health department, the breakdown of recent cases in the last 24 hours is as follows: Lahore reported 36 cases, Rawalpindi 17, Faisalabad 5, Gujranwala 4, and Multan, Sheikhupura, and Gujrat each recorded 2 cases.
Presently, there are 77 dengue fever patients receiving treatment in various hospitals across Punjab, all of whom are reported to be in stable condition.
Additionally, Rawalpindi has reported 19 new cases, while the federal capital has documented 11 cases of the fever within the same 24-hour timeframe.
The dengue ward at Benazir Bhutto Hospital is currently tending to a significant number of patients grappling with this ailment.
