Punjab Reports 122 New Dengue Cases

LAHORE: The Punjab Health Department confirmed on Thursday that 122 new cases of dengue were reported across the province in the last 24 hours.

According to the latest figures, Rawalpindi accounted for 103 cases, Lahore 6, while Chakwal and Chiniot each reported 2 cases. Additionally, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Attock, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Rahimyar Khan, Vehari, and Toba Tek Singh each had one case.

In the past week, a total of 917 new dengue virus infections have been identified, bringing the cumulative number of cases in Punjab for 2024 to 3,893. The health department reassured the public that all necessary measures to combat the outbreak are in place, with an adequate supply of medicine available in all public hospitals throughout the province.

In light of the increasing cases, the department issued a strong advisory urging the public to keep their surroundings clean and dry to help prevent the spread of the dengue virus. Citizens are also encouraged to fully cooperate with health teams actively working to manage the outbreak.
