LAHORE: Dengue cases continue to surge in Punjab, Pakistan, with 107 new cases reported in the past 24 hours. According to the latest update from the health department on Thursday, these new cases have pushed the total number of confirmed dengue cases in the province this year to 3,032.
Lahore remains the hardest-hit city, reporting 1,225 cases, while Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala have reported 732, 364, 156, and 124 cases, respectively.
In the last 24 hours, Lahore reported 36 new dengue cases, Rawalpindi 32, Multan 17, Faisalabad 4, Gujranwala 6, Sheikhupura 2, and Jhang recorded 2. Additionally, Muzaffargarh, Sialkot, Gujrat, Rahimyar Khan, Toba Tek Singh, and Chakwal each reported one new case.
111 Dengue Patients Hospitalized in Punjab
At present, 111 dengue patients are under treatment in various hospitals across Punjab, with 36 of them in hospitalized Lahore hospitals
Secretary Health Punjab, Ali Jaan Khan, has appealed to citizens to maintain cleanliness and ensure dry surroundings as a preventive measure against dengue fever. He urged them to cooperate with health department teams in their ongoing efforts.
