ISLAMABAD: Authorities in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have decided to extend winter vacations till the 9th and 7th of January, respectively, due to the prevailing cold weather conditions.
The School Education Department Punjab has extended the winter holidays till January 09, 2024, due to the severity of the weather in Punjab.
It is worth noting here that the winter vacation in Punjab commenced on December 18.
Earlier, the media reported that the provincial government might change the schedule of school reopening due to the cold weather conditions, as the parents of the children also demanded that the officials extend winter vacation by one week.
Winter Vacation Extended in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Meanwhile, the Elementary and Secondary Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also extended the winter vacation till January 07, 2024.
According to a notification issued by the department on Saturday, the decision has been made due to the prevailing cold weather conditions and would be applicable in the Summer Zone. In the hilly areas, the winter vacations usually last till the middle or end of February.
