LAHORE: Uzbekistan Ambassador to Pakistan Oybek Arif Usmanov called on Punjab Governor Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman and discussed means of enhancing bilateral cooperation in education and trade.
Honorary Consul of Uzbekistan in Punjab, Najeeb Mushtaq Vohra and Trade Counsellor, Bakrom Yusupov also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Governor Baligh-ur-Rehman highlighted the strengthening relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, emphasizing the need to revive historical ties and prioritize tourism for economic growth.
He expressed confidence in trade agreements to bolster economic relations and proposed increased cooperation in education and trade sectors, including investment opportunities in agriculture, IT, energy, and mining.
Baligh-ur-Rehman advocated for student exchanges and scholarships, emphasizing regional stability as crucial for mutual prosperity. Ambassador Usmanov echoed the sentiment, affirming Uzbekistan’s commitment to enhancing bilateral relations across various sectors.
