ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s top leader and ex-speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaisar has said that the Governor of Punjab has acted against the constitution, where an unelected person was trying to de-notify an elected chief minister of the largest province of the country.

Asad Qaisar said this while addressing a public gathering in his native town Swabi on Friday. He further said that PTI was struggling for developing a sovereign Pakistan but unfortunately an imported government has been imposed on the nation.

He further said that the motive of his party was not to take any dictation from foreign countries and to make the people of Pakistan aware of the essence of a free nation.

Violation of Constitution

Talking about the ongoing political unrest in Punjab between the Chief Minister and Governor Punjab, Asad Qaisar said the governor has no authority to de-notify the chief minister who was a public representative.

The ex-speaker also said that the government was violating human rights rules by ‘abducting’ senior citizen and lawmaker Azam Swati. He added that at present the country was facing severe economic turmoil and a surge in unemployment but the government instead of resolving the political and economic issues was busy in a blame game and politics of vengeance. He remarked the federal government lacked the required mandate in the parliament.
