DERA GHAZI KHAN: Punjab Food Authority (PFA) executed a significant crackdown in Dera Ghazi Khan, resulting in the destruction of 153,360 eggs valued at over Rs 2.3 million.
Spearheaded by Director Operation South Shehzad Khan Magassi and Deputy Director Imran Khan, the raid targeted a cold storage facility situated on Multan Road.
During the operation, the PFA team uncovered a staggering quantity of expired eggs, rendering them unfit for human consumption. Prompt action was taken to dispose of the expired eggs, ensuring they did not enter the food supply chain and pose a risk to public health.
Officials emphasized the critical importance of such interventions in maintaining food safety standards and protecting consumers from potential health hazards.
In response to the discovery, legal proceedings have been initiated against those responsible for the storage and distribution of the expired eggs.
