Punjab Assembly: Pervaiz Elahi Once Again Assures Imran Khan Over Dissolution

LAHORE: The Chief Minister of Punjab Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi on Thursday held a meeting with former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan to reassure him that Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid will fully support his decision of dissolving Punjab Assembly.

The meeting was announced on Twitter by Elahi’s son and former federal minister Moonis Elahi, who said that the chief minister told the PTI chairman that he was ready to dissolve the assembly as his government belongs only to him (Imran Khan).

The chief minister Elahi was accompanied by MNA Hussain Elahi and Moonis Elahi and senior PTI leader Pervaiz Khattak and Khan’s political advisor Hafiz Farhat Abbas were also present in the meeting.

On the occasion, Elahi said that if the coalition government resigned the country should go for early elections. They also discussed how to prevent the federal government from trying to avert the dissolution of assemblies.

The two leaders also discussed the political and administrative situation of the province. The chief minister also informed Imran Khan about the developmental projects underway in Punjab. 

Elahi said that in Punjab the opposition does not have the required majority to topple his government.

Imran Khan said that a moot of the provincial parliamentary party has been convened for a final consultation on the matter.
