Punjab Assembly Delegation Represents Pakistan at Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in Barbados

RIDGETOWN, Barbados: A delegation from Pakistan’s Punjab Assembly, led by Speaker Malik Ahmad Khan, participated in the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC) held in Barbados under the theme Commonwealth — Global Partnership.”

The delegation included Sara Ahmad, Ali Haider Gilani, Malik Ahmad Saeed, and Punjab Assembly Secretary Amir Habib.

The conference, organized by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), brought together lawmakers from member countries to exchange best practices, strengthen legislative cooperation, and promote democratic governance.

Speaker Malik Ahmad Khan said the event “aims to promote parliamentary democracy, share best practices, and enhance collaboration in lawmaking.” He added that discussions covered “issues of democratic governance, legislative challenges, and both regional and global affairs.”

Highlighting the forum’s significance, Khan noted that “the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference is an important platform for fostering relations among parliamentarians from member countries.”

Chairperson Sara Ahmad described representing Pakistan at the conference as “an honor,” adding that key issues such as women’s empowerment and climate change were prominently discussed.

The Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference remains one of the most influential global gatherings for parliamentarians, providing opportunities to build dialogue and advance democratic ideals across member nations.
