LAHORE: The Punjab Arts Council has directed relevant authorities to revoke approval for drama scripts due to repeated violation of the code of conduct, local media reported on Sunday.
The development is part of the operation cleanup to stop vulgarity, obscenity and indecent performances on stage plays.
During campaign against code of conduct violation Lahore Cantt assistant commissioner ordered to seal Shahlimar Theatre for violating the rules and regulations permitted to the theatres.

Punjab Caretaker Information and Culture Minister Amir Mir in a statement, said notices had been issued to owners of theatres across Punjab.
He said stage drams had been banned after the Punjab Arts Council revoked scripts of stage plays. He added theatres will not show dramas till the amendment to Dramatic Act 1876 is approved.
He said approval for drama scripts is compulsory. The information minister added that a full rehearsal will be carried out, inspected by the representatives of the government before showing dramas.
