Islamabad police have decided to close down main points in the federal capital on the occasion of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s long march and sit-in expected to be held in Rawalpindi on November 26.
In this regard, Islamabad Police Inspector-General Akbar Nasir Khan chaired a meeting that decided to close down important places in the federal capital by installing containers.
It was decided that the entry to Islamabad from 26 No Chungi, Faizabad and Koral Chowk will be banned from Thursday evening.
In this regard, 20,000 police personnel will be deployed at important entrances including at the Faizabad intersection. Along with the police personnel, FC and Rangers personnel will also be deployed at important intersections including at the Faizabad junction by installing containers.
Islamabad police DIG (operations) Sohail Akhtar said that instructions have been issued to SPs and SDPOs to install containers on important intersections.
He said that alternative traffic routes will be provided to commuters and motorists. In this regard, the road from Bhara Kahu and Rawal Dam Chowk to Trami will remain open for those coming to Islamabad from Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
