MARDAN: A district and sessions court in Mardan on Saturday granted bail to former National Assembly speaker Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser in a May 9 case.
Judge Mohammad Zaib of Mardan District and Sessions Courts granted bail to Asad Qaiser upon the submission of surety bonds amounting to Rs100,000.
Charsadda police re-arrested Asad Qaiser was re-arrested on November 24.
Police arrested former Speaker of the National Assembly Asad in a vandalism case and took him to Charsadda under stringent security measures.
Earlier, an anti-corruption court in Abbottabad had granted bail to Asad Qaiser in a corruption case.
The allegations against him pertained to corruption in the procurement of equipment for Gajju Khan Medical College.
Asad Qaiser was apprehended from Bani Gala, Islamabad, on November 3 in relation to the Anti-Corruption Establishment’s (ACE) investigation into his alleged corruption in the purchase of medical equipment for Swabi’s Gajju Khan Medical College.
