PESHAWAR: Police have registered cases against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers for damaging public property in Peshawar’s protest following the attack on party chairman Imran Khan on November 3 in Wazirabad.
Cantt Superintendent of Police (SP) Azhar Khan said on Monday that police have started identifying the accused through CCTV footage. The assistance of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has also been sought for identification purposes.
He added that the protesters were charged with damaging public property in the protests, and the accusations would be prosecuted against the law.
It is to be noted here that after the assassination attempt on the life of a former prime minister and PTI chairman Imran Khan during his party’s long march in Wazirabad, the angry party workers had forcefully demonstrated in the provincial capital.
