SUKKUR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Amin Gandapur was released from the central jail, in Sukkur on Thursday, local media reported.
Following his release, Ali Amin Gandapur left Sukkur for Punjab, reports said. Earlier, the Sukkur Central Jail administration refused to release the PTI leader despite his bail. It said that Punjab police wanted the accused in various cases.
A case was registered against Gandapur for delivering hate speech against state institutions.
It is to be noted that the Lahore police took the PTI leader into its custody soon after a court in Bhakkar granted him bail in a case related to opening fire on a police checkpoint.
Ali Amin Gandapur’s arrest
He was arrested outside the Peshawar High Court’s (PHC) D.I. Khan bench in April.
On 8 April, a case was registered against Gandapur at Islamabad’s Golra police station under section seven of the Anti-Terrorism Act.
