ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) core committee has announced its unanimous decision to appoint Imran Khan as the Chairman for Life, reaffirming his prominent role as the party’s founder. This decision emerged following the core committee meeting, during which PTI emphasized its commitment to upholding democratic values and demanded transparent elections.
In a declaration released subsequent to the core committee session, PTI asserted its firm stance against any potential postponement of elections and emphasized the necessity of holding free and fair elections within 90 days following the dissolution of the National Assembly.
Notably, with the endorsement of Chairman Imran Khan, PTI has unveiled its intention to challenge the decisions made by the Council of Common Interests (CCI) in the Supreme Court.

PTI to Organize Special Events to Celebrate Independence Day
In line with Chairman Imran Khan’s guidance, PTI has charted plans to celebrate Independence Day through special events in Pakistan and around the world, the declaration added. The core committee further affirmed its commitment to challenging amendments to the Official Secrets Act to ensure the protection of essential rights and personal freedoms.
Highlighting its unwavering stance against authoritarianism, PTI expressed its resolve to prevent the government from enacting repressive legislation and pledged to safeguard citizens’ rights and liberties at any cost.
The core committee strongly emphasized its opposition to any attempts aimed at dispossessing PTI of its electoral symbol, the ‘bat.’ Referring to the electoral symbol as a fundamental right, PTI underscored its intention to challenge any unacceptable efforts to undermine this symbol through legal and political channels.
During the meeting, a comprehensive overview of recent developments was provided, including discussions on the appeal against the Toshakhana decision and interactions between lawyers and other stakeholders with Chairman Imran Khan during his time in confinement.
