ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s former Prime Minister and head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Tuesday approached Islamabad High Court against the rejection of his bail pleas in Toshakhana and a 190 million pounds Al Qadir case, by an accountability court.
The PTI leader argued in his petition that his bail petitions had been dismissed by the accountability court on August 10 due to his non-attendance at the proceedings. He requested the court to nullify the verdict of the accountability court.
Furthermore, the PTI Chairman appealed for interim bail until a decision is reached on his plea. He has also included the Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) as a party to this legal dispute.
Toshakhana Case Against Imran Khan
It should be noted that the PTI Chairman has been unable to attend the proceedings related to the cases against him since his arrest in early August. Despite this fact, the accountability court did not take into consideration his absence when rejecting his bail request in the Toshakhana and 190 million pounds scam cases.
