KARACHI: Imran Khan led Pakistan Tahreek -e- Insaaf (PTI) has challenged the winning of Pakistan People’s Party’s Abdul Hakeem Baloch by filing a petition in Sindh High Court for NA-237 by-election.

The petition was filed by PTI leader Ali Zaidi through his counsel Dr. Shahab Imam, and nominating the Sindh government, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), and the winning candidate, Baloch as respondents.

The PTI asserts in its petition that the “worst” type of election manipulation occurred in these by-elections, alleging that PPP members cast fake votes and rigged elections in Sindh. The PTI also informed the court that they had reported the rigging to the ECP.

The party has asked the court to look into the allegations of rigging. Abdul Hakeem Baloch of the PPP won the district with 32,567 votes, making him the winner.
