He remarked current government should either take the matter to the country’s Parliament and amend the current Constitution or arrange the elections.

Meanwhile, PTI senior leader and former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi that the upcoming Punjab election case hearing on Thursday would see his party appearing in court.

PTI, Qureshi said, was committed to upholding the constitution of Pakistan, the rule of law, and the verdict of the Supreme Court.

Qureshi accused the PDM of playing a hypocritical game and trying to deceive the people by giving a different meaning to the verdict. The former foreign minister claimed that if the PDM really wanted elections, the government would have released the funds for elections.

He also tweeted: “In the best interests of the country and people, we were willing to hold talks, to develop a consensus within the ambit of the constitution”.

He also claimed, “This government is not sincere. The PTI will continue to follow the SC’s verdict and constitution”.
