ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) is embarking on significant initiatives to promote tourism, showcasing the country’s natural landscapes, rich history, diverse culture, and archaeological sites to attract both local and foreign tourists.
According to an official statement, the PTDC is in the process of developing a Tourism Application that will serve as a comprehensive guide for tourists, providing easy access to information about various destinations.
To enhance tourist services, the PTDC has already established Tourist Information Centers (TIC) at several airports, ensuring accurate information for travelers. Furthermore, plans are underway to set up a modern TIC at the new International Gwadar airport, offering detailed information about recreational sites in the province.
The PTDC aims to position Pakistan as a tourist-friendly destination, aspiring to secure a spot among the top five tourist destinations in Asia. The corporation is actively engaged in marketing tourist attractions at home and abroad through tourism shows and exhibitions, with the goal of generating significant revenue.
Recognizing the tourism sector’s substantial contribution to the national exchequer, the PTDC is focusing on developing infrastructure and services within the country to facilitate tourists. In collaboration with the Capital Development Authority (CDA), PTDC has initiated an effective cleanliness campaign at various parks in the federal capital to ensure a neat and clean environment, attracting numerous tourists in a healthy ambiance.
The cleanliness campaign aims not only to enhance the appeal of tourist spots in the capital but also encourages tourists to play a role in maintaining cleanliness during their visits. As a popular destination for both local and foreign visitors, Islamabad and Rawalpindi twin cities witness a considerable influx of tourists seeking recreation and tourism experiences.
It is noteworthy that the pleasant weather and peaceful atmosphere in Pakistan’s recreational sites continue to attract a large number of tourists, including locals and foreign dignitaries.
