PSX Witnesses Bearish Trend, Losses 215.94 Points

ISLAMABAD: The 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bearish trend amid lacklustre trading on Tuesday and lost 215.94 points to close at 45,491.48 points against its previous day standing of 45,707.42 points. The index observed a decline of 0.47 per cent with a lack of participation from investors.

On Tuesday, 55,028,384 shares were transacted compared to 139,251,269 shares last day, whereas the trading value of shares was witnessed at Rs3.047 billion against the day trading of Rs4.476 billion.

Bearish Trend at PSX

Most of the top-tier companies, including banks, OGDCL, PPL, HUBC and other entities, remained in the red zone that took the market into the negative zone.

In total, 296 companies traded their shares in the stock market, out of which 103 grabbed profit while 164 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 29 companies was traded without a change.

As a precedent, WorldCall Telecom remained the top leader among the top three trading entities with 21.839 million shares, followed by Maple Leaf as Runners-up with 8.453 million shares where as Pak Refinery stood as number third with 4.725 million shares.
