KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) index increased by more than 685.42 points to reach 40,354.62 on Monday, crossing the 40,000 psychological thresholds.
PSX recovers
The KSE-100 benchmark increased to 39,763.85 points at the beginning of the day before rising to 40,113.02 points later on. Data from the index showed that since reaching its peak, the index had held steady at the psychological threshold of 40,000.
The oil and gas exploration company was the main factor in the benchmark KSE-100’s upward trend, contributing 45.64 points. The market volume was kept at 0.37 million, though.
With a positive change of 12.85%, TSPL has maintained its lead in terms of volume, while the refinery experienced the largest change, which was 0.79%.
The KSE-100 index closed the previous trading day at 39,669.20 points.
