ISLAMABAD: The bearish trend continued for the third consecutive day at Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), and the 100-index witnessed a loss of 1,378.54 points, with a negative change of 3.47 percent, closing at 38,342.21 as compared to 39,720.75 points the previous day.
During the day a total of 205,906,982 shares were traded against 105,542,468 shares the previous day, while the price of shares stood at Rs6.710 billion against Rs3.203 billion on Monday.
Bearish Trend in PSX
Due to uncertain political and financial scenarios, the 100-index has encountered a bearish trend for the last couple of days. During the last three working days, the index lost more than 2,200 points.
On Tuesday, in total 340 companies transacted their shares in the stock market, 34 of them recorded gains, and 281 witnessed losses, while 25 companies sustained their share price with no change.
The three top-trading companies were K-Electric, WorldCAll Telecom and Sui North Gas with 29,912,473 shares at Rs2.07 per share, 14,479,623 shares at Rs1.10 per share, and 9,689,650 shares at Rs35.33 per share respectively.
Meanwhile, Nestle Pakistan recorded a maximum increase of Rs196.00 per share price, closing at Rs5,595.00, while the runner-up was Pak Services with a Rs104.00 rise in its per share price to Rs439.92.
Meanwhile, Bhanero Textile recorded a maximum decrease of Rs76.80 per share closing at Rs948.20, followed by Bata (Pak) with Rs69.00 decrease to close at Rs851.00.
